Community Health

At the heart of the Ho-Chunk Nation's commitment to community well-being lies our robust Community Health program. Across six office locations—from Black River Falls to Tomah—we provide a range of essential services designed to support the health and vitality of our people. Our dedicated Community Health Nursing team offers skilled care, immunizations, diabetic foot care, health screenings, and compassionate caregiver services, ensuring comprehensive support for individuals and families alike.

Promoting Health & Wellness

Under the umbrella of our Health & Wellness Division, we champion a proactive approach to health through education, empowerment, and engagement. From fitness membership reimbursements to tailored programs like Balancing Your Life & Diabetes Classes and nutritional counseling, we empower Ho-Chunk community members to embrace healthy lifestyles. Our commitment extends to providing fresh, locally sourced produce through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares during the growing season, reinforcing our dedication to holistic well-being.

Nutrition and Food Distribution

The Ho-Chunk Nation's Nutrition Program and Food Distribution initiatives play vital roles in ensuring access to nutritious foods. Through community events, health fairs, and one-on-one Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), we equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to manage conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. Additionally, our Food Distribution Program delivers USDA commodity foods to eligible participants, fostering food security and healthy eating habits across our community. Together, these programs exemplify our ongoing commitment to enhancing the health and quality of life for all Ho-Chunk and Native American community members.
