The Purchased/Referred Care Services (PRC) Program, generously funded by the Indian Health Service (IHS), facilitates access to medical and dental care beyond the Ho-Chunk Health Care Center (HHCC), House of Wellness (HOW), or other tribal health care facilities. This program ensures that our community members receive necessary healthcare services that are not available locally.
Direct Care, on the other hand, refers to medical and dental services provided directly at HHCC, HOW, or other tribal health facilities. PRC serves as a critical resource, functioning as a payer of last resort rather than an entitlement program or insurance plan. Our goal is to supplement and support our community's healthcare needs effectively.
