The mission of the Ho-Chunk Health and Wellness Division is to promote a healthy lifestyle among the Ho-Chunk people. The purpose of the team is to develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive health promotion program targeted toward educating, energizing, and empowering communities.

Fitness Membership Reimbursement Program Policy

Fitness Membership Reimbursement Program: It is the policy of the Health and Wellness Team to offer a 6 month reimbursement program for fitness memberships to Ho-Chunk enrolled Tribal members to encourage increasing physical activity.

Community Supported Agriculture Shares (CSA’s): Tribal members and their families are participating in the Community Supported Agriculture Program, receiving fresh fruits and vegetables weekly or bi-weekly.

Kathleen has a BS in Physical Education and an MS in Kinesiology from Cal State University at Fullerton (CSUF). Kathleen is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Clinical Exercise Specialist and is a Level-III Exercise Is Medicine credentialed professional. She is also a Certified Diabetes Educator and Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She has been with the Ho-Chunk Nation for 12 years as an Exercise Physiologist, working for the Special Diabetes Program for Indians Grant.

I enjoy helping others; I have worked in the Health & Wellness Division for about 10 years. On my off time I enjoy reading, watching movies, spending time with my children and trying new activities.

Lyndsey is originally from Eau Claire, WI and since has moved to the “big” city of Black River Falls, WI. Lyndsey is married and has two young boys, Zayden and Waylen. And baby number 3 coming in April 2019! She has been working for the Ho Chunk Nation Health & Wellness Division since 2012 as a Certified Medical Assistant/Program Recruiter. In her spare time she likes to play sports, read, listen to music and watch her son in wrestling tournaments.

I am from Wisconsin Rapids, WI and serve as the Exercise Physiologist for the Nekoosa and Wittenberg areas. I have worked in the Health and Wellness Field for the past 10 years as a Community Health and Wellness Director for the South Wood County YMCA.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially my niece and 3 nephews. I am an avid runner and enjoy competing in distance races as well as teaching a wide variety of group fitness classes, and helping others to achieve their optimal health and wellness. I am very excited to be part of the Wellness Team here at the Ho-Chunk Nation, and look forward to helping others be healthy in any way that I can.

Rebecca Krause, Nacgepi wi

Rebecca was born on Feb.3, (Sunday) 1957 in Jackson County. She grew up in La Crosse, graduated in 1975, and gave birth to 1 child, a girl (Amy). Rebecca will become a Great Grandmother in October and December with 2 Great Granddaughters on the way, and has four grandchildren all grown and gone. Hired by the Nation in Feb. 25, 2013, Rebecca has been working for the tribe for almost 6 yrs. She started working for the Nation in the Maintenance department. And is now working in Community Health as the Secretary for the Health & Wellness Division.
